Twice a year, FBBV organizes a lunch meeting on an inspiring location for its members, focusing on a specific current topic relevant for a sustainable economy (eg. biofuels, CO2, investment opportunities, shale gas…). In this time-efficient concept, an invited speaker gives a presentation while the participants have lunch. After the presentation there is plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion.
Upon the request of (inter)national delegations, FBBV regularly organizes guided tours (by bus or the Javob Van Artevelde boat) in the biorefinery cluster in the port of Ghent, often combined with a guided tour at Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant. These tours offer an excellent introduction to the unique biorefinery cluster situated in the Rodenhuizedok and FBBV in general.
Also the general public can visit the biorefinery cluster by boat. Every Saturday boat tours through the port of Ghent and the biorefinery cluster are organized. These are free of charge! Experts of FBBV give more insight into the biobased economy during boat trips at the Port Day (Havendag).
Promoting the cluster
FBBV promotes the cluster in various ways: FBBV is present on multiple conferences and trade fairs such as European Forum for Industrial Biotechnology, World Bio Markets, Conference on Biobased Materials; FBBV have welcomed multiple international delegations; FBBV gives lectures on various types of seminars, workshops and conferences.
